“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” - Psalm 46:1
Life often presents us with challenges that seem almost overwhelming. During these tough times, it can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But it’s in these moments that our faith can shine the brightest. James 1:2-4 reminds us to consider it pure joy when we face trials, as they test our faith and produce perseverance.
The Bible is filled with promises from God that can provide comfort during difficult times. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Remembering that God is with us can help us face our challenges with courage and hope.
Prayer is a powerful tool in any circumstance, but especially so in tough times. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us not to be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Through prayer, we can find peace and strength.
Finding a community to do life with outside of your home is so important during trying times. Whether it’s through a church, a small group, or trusted friends, sharing our struggles and supporting each other is vital.
Ultimately, our hope is in Jesus Christ. He has overcome the world, and through Him, we can find the strength to overcome our troubles. Romans 8:37 tells us that in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
